Syncapse Gears Up for Rapid Growth With Additions to Executive Team

TORONTO and NEW YORK – June 1, 2011 – Syncapse Corp., a global leader in social media management for large enterprise, announced today five new additions to its executive team, signaling its intention for rapid growth heading into the second half of 2011.

This is the third major hiring announcement from Syncapse, since it raised $25 million in a Series A round of funding from growth equity investor ABS Capital Partners in February, 2011.  These additions will serve to round out the executive team and position the company as it continues to grow its Fortune 500 client list with an industry leading social media management solution.

Mark Millar joins Syncapse as Chief Financial Officer from Platform Computing Inc., David Wexler joins Syncapse as Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources from EA Sports, Sarah Long joins as Vice President, Marketing from Diageo, Larry Philps joins as Vice President, Engineering from Autodesk and Derek Marshall joins as Vice President, Program Delivery from Rogers Communications Inc.

Mark Millar, C.A., Chief Financial Officer

Mark joins Syncapse from Platform Computing Inc., where he oversaw all finance related initiatives for a leading enterprise software company with annual revenues of $80 million. Mark brings more than 15 years of executive management experience to Syncapse, where he will manage the company’s growing financial, legal, IT and administration infrastructure, maximizing revenue growth in all markets.

David Wexler, Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources


David joins Syncapse from EA Sports, where he was responsible for leading HR for a 1,200-person workforce at one of the world’s largest independent games studios. At Syncapse, David will lead the company’s Human Resources strategy, ensuring that Syncapse accelerates its reputation as a world-class employer, and the place where great talent thrives.

Sarah Long, Vice President, Marketing

Sarah will lead Syncapse’s marketing globally.  Sarah is a classically trained brand marketer, and brings a wealth of experience most recently from Diageo, as well as Molson Coors Brewing Company and Procter & Gamble.  Given her previous experience, Sarah brings a clear understanding of the marketing challenges and pain points associated with social media and will ensure Syncapse partners with clients to effectively solve them.

Larry Philps, Vice President, Product Development

Larry is a highly skilled technology executive with a passion for product development and business strategy. Larry will lead a world-class software engineering team to ensure the Syncapse Platform delivers on its reputation as a best-in-class solution for marketers. Previously, Larry oversaw development of several flagship products for Alias Systems, including Maya Software, the 3D graphics software used in Oscar award-winning Spider-Man 2.  After Alias was acquired by Autodesk in 2006, Larry successfully led multiple teams creating and introducing new products across Autodesk’s product line.

Derek Marshall, Vice President, Program Delivery

Derek is a senior leader with a wealth of experience managing high performance teams. With a background in digital media operations, Derek will be responsible for the delivery of social media projects for global clients on the Syncapse Platformä. Derek comes to Syncapse from Rogers Communications Inc. where he was Senior Director of Digital Engineering.
